Yes, you read that right, my next major product experiment is Handmade Sugar Scrubs!

I've always loved sugar scrubs, but they are so very expensive to buy! Especially if the scrub has all natural ingredients. One day while browsing the internet I saw a recipe for a simple sugar scrub and it intrigued me. I looked farther into it, and saw that I had all of the ingredients to make it for myself! Thus was born the Hot Buttered Rum Coffee Sugar Scrub. I loved the idea!

I continued to research, but time was running out- I only had days before our next show! I came up with simple scrubs for our April 1st Art Walk in McAllen, TX- what I ended up with is shown above.

  • Gardener's Scrub

  • Mechanic's Scrub

  • Grubby Finger Scrub

  • Coffee Scrub Anti-Cellulite

People really liked them!! I sold quite a few, and got lots of compliments. I knew I had a winning idea! So I researched even more, and came up with new recipes for our next show, April 9th at Sunset Live Outdoor Concert - shown below.

  • Hot Buttered Rum Coffee Sugar Scrub

  • Coffee Cinnamon Body Scrub

  • Honey Hibiscus Moisturizing Face Scrub

  • Mud Pie

  • Honey Oatmeal Chamomile Sugar Scrub

  • Green Tea Sugar Scrub

  • Paprika Vitamin E Sugar Scrub

The night of April 9th, we were swarmed with customers all evening! The sugar scrubs were a huge hit, lots of people complimented us. It was so exciting!

So, here in this blog post I will list all of the Sugar Scrubs we have available right now. We are still experimenting (there is one product I know for sure that I will introduce at the next Sunset Live Outdoor Concert, May 14- more info to come soon). Below are behind the scenes stories of how we developed these scrubs and links to where you can buy our products.

Hot Buttered Rum Coffee Sugar Scrub

My very first sugar scrub recipe!

The recipe calls for coffee grounds, which was a great use for all of the unused coffee I've collected since I had to quit drinking coffee, hehe. So I found my favorite flavor, Hot Buttered Rum in my cabinet, opened it up and shoved my face in the bag. Hah! Not really. But I did take a very large whiff!

The warm comforting scent of a fresh pot of coffee envelops your body as you exfoliate and moisturize your skin! Combined with the caffeine in the coffee grounds which can help tighten and firm the skin and muscles, this decadent sugar scrub can help reduce the appearance of cellulite and improve the appearance of rough skin.

This is the first sample I gave my mom, Joanne. She loves it! She uses it every shower, and raves about it to everyone she meets.

Ingredients: fresh coffee grounds, sugar, coconut oil and vitamin e oil.

Coffee Cinnamon Body Scrub

"Does this scrub make my butt look firmer?"

Yes it does!! Buy it here.

I've been using this scrub myself when I shower. Its amazing!

You see, I've always had a very rough, bumpy and unattractive lower butt cheek. Sorry, TMI but its true! After ONE use of this scrub, my cheek was soft, smooth and firm!! And it stayed that way, I just love my butt now!

Cinnamon is known to have antiseptic, exfoliating and regenerative properties. Combined with the caffeine in the Cafe Bustelo coffee grounds which can help tighten and firm the skin and muscles, this moisturizing sugar scrub can help reduce the appearance of cellulite and improve the appearance of rough skin

Ingredients: fresh coffee grounds, sugar, cinnamon, coconut oil and vitamin e oil

Honey Hibiscus Moisturizing Face Scrub

aka the "BOTOX plant"

Honey Hibiscus Moisturizing Face Scrub is made with sugar for gentle facial exfoliation, honey to fight aging, cleanse pores and fight bacteria, 3 decadent oils to nourish and revitalize your skin, and dried flowers from the hibiscus plant. Hibiscus is known to have some of the most powerful anti -aging properties in the plant world. It not only helps to prevent the breakdown of elastin in your skin, it also accelerates cell regeneration, restoring the look and feel of youthful skin!

We steep the hibiscus flowers in coconut oil for hours, tinting the oil deep pink and releasing the subtle aroma into the oil.

Use daily to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve the elasticity of the skin.

Blackhead Reducing Mud Pie Facial Mask

Deep clean your pores with our Facial Scrub made from bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar! Bentonite clay draws out toxins while it tightens and firms skin in the process. Additionally, it is full of minerals which improve the glow and softness of your skin. Simply apply, rub gently and leave on skin for 10 to 20 minutes.

So I had to try this one. I read all of these stories online of "tingling" in the skin and saw pictures of oozing pores through the clay mask. I had to know if it really worked like that!

I honestly thought I didn't have any blackheads for the mask to clean out. I put a dab on the inner corner of my left nostril and smeared it around my nose and left it for about 15 minutes. Then I went to look in the mirror. It worked!! Oh my goodness, I had white goo oozing out of my inner nostril pores! After that, I rinsed it off and gently patted my face dry. Other than being a little red, my nose was soft and bright and shiny in a good way, It was quite the surprise! I plan to use this mask every month or so. See, the skin on my face is rather sensitive, and it really doesn't have an acne problem so there is no need for me to use it more often. But for someone with chronic acne, oily skin or blackhead problems, this mask can be used up to once per week. It works wonders!

As soon as I can, I will include it on our shop!
